That experience locked in the conviction I've never stopped teaching: a company's content strategy is its marketing strategy. Its marketing strategy is its growth strategy. Which makes it a CEO decision — not a department function.

Most companies ignored that. AI just made that mistake existential.
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews have rewritten the rules of online visibility overnight. Most organizations are delegating the response to their content, SEO, and tech silos — working in isolation, without strategic direction from the top. That's the wrong call.

AI Search is a boardroom strategy. It requires strategic planning, semantic expertise, brand positioning, and editorial judgment — not just algorithms. And CEOs need to own it.
